Growing Chickens.

When we got the chickens on April 17, they were just about 2 weeks old. We figured that their birthday was April 1. We had to keep them in the house for 8 weeks. In Mid May, they got to big to be inside so we had to take them out. It was warm enough for them, with overnight temps around 55-60 degrees. Their box was in the garage for a week or so before we decided that they should live in the coop. Their first night in the coop was May 22. Since their first night in the coop, they have grown  so much and we can't believe that they will be laying eggs by the first day of school.......

Fells Nature Camp

On the week of July 5-8, I had decided that I wanted to do a morning nature camp that week. On the first day, we visited the Tudor Barn which was used for storing ice and food before the refridgraders.
We saw thais Monarch Butterfly. Isn't it pretty?
Our group made a fort out of sticks and on Thursday we decided to go over there and eat lunch.
 Great Island from the fort.
When I got home on Thursday, I decided to make a fort with Adelina and Levi. We are still working on it.

Tree Fall!

On Sunday June 12 when we were getting the chickens back to their coop, 2 chickens were in the bush. I was standing where it would fall trying to get the chickens out of the bush. Then I heard a snap, I looked up and I saw a 20 foot sumac tree falling toward me running of the way. Meanwhile, the 2 chickens ran back into their coop. Later we noticed that thousands of bugs had been inside of the tree.
